Shahar Pe'er reached multiple Grand Slam quarterfinals, and Dudi Sela advanced to the fourth round at Wimbledon—highlighting Israel’s presence on tennis’s biggest stages

The next generation of Israeli tennis is already showing great promise. Dan Brand(Born in 2009) is ranked among the top 40 juniors in the world, while Ofir Manhard(Born in 2011) is ranked No. 7 in her age group and No. 166 in the Juniors world rankings highlighting strong potential for future success on the international stage.

National Teams
The ITA oversees and supports Israel’s national teams competing in major international competitions, including:
Davis Cup
The Israeli men’s national team competes in the Davis Cup, the “World Cup of Tennis,” bringing together national teams from across the globe to compete in head-to-head ties featuring both singles and doubles matches. Israel reached its historic peak in 2009, advancing to the semifinals against Spain.
Billie Jean King Cup
The Israeli women’s national team competes in the Billie Jean King Cup, the “World Cup of Tennis.”
Its best achievement came in 2008, reaching the World Group, the highest level of the competition. Today, the team competes in the Europe/Africa Zone Group II.
Junior national teams
Israeli tennis teams compete in European and international events. A recent highlight came in 2023, when the Israeli girls’ U12 team won the European Championship, defeating Great Britain 2-0 in the final in Ajaccio, France—the first Israeli team to claim this title.

National Tennis Academy at Wingate Institute
The Israel Tennis Association (ITA) is leading a new national initiative to establish the Israel National Tennis Academy at the Wingate Institute, which will serve as the future home of elite tennis development in Israel.
Our Vision
To create a complete professional development pathway within Israel, increase the number of players competing at the highest international levels, and establish a structured, long-term model for national excellence.
The academy will serve as a National Tennis Center of Excellence, bringing together the country’s top talents within one professional framework and acting as a driving force for Israel’s return to the top of world tennis.
